Hi! I am Oscar and I am from Venezuela.
Here around you might find a little bit about myself, my academic and professional background and some interesting projects I have done. I am currently an student in the Copernicus Master Of Digital Earth in the University of Salzburg under the Erasmus+ programme.

About me
I studied Geophysical Engineering in Caracas, Venezuela. After finishing my bachelor I worked in two different areas "Maritime Business" and "Technology Consultant in Financial Services".

A couple of years working in these industries passed and then I decided to continue my studies which ultimately led me to the Erasmus+ Copernicus Master of Digital Earth.

I'm an macrophotography enthusiast and I love photographing insects and nature, but also enjoy choral singing and a little bit of hiking.
Academical background
Geophysical Engineering. Universidad Simón BolÃvar (Venezuela)
September 2012 - April 2018
During this time I participated in different activies in my university such as the Student Council of Geophysical Engineering and the TEK exploration team, as well as some other extracurricular teams such as the University Choir (Orfeón).

The subjects that I pursued where related to Remote Sensing, Statistical methods for Geosciences in addition with the regular studies of the career.

Bachelor in Geophysics (International exchange student). University of São Paulo (Brazil)
March 2017 - August 2017
During this time I took classes in both the Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences Institute (IAG) and the Oceanographic Institute (IO) of the University of São Paulo.

I worked as a research assistant in the Geoprocessing Laboratory at the IO where I developed my undergraduate project: "A hydrodynamics study of the Saco de Mamanguá (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) based on a granulometric, mineralogical and magnetic analysis".
Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) - International competition from the from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG)
In my last trimester of college I was able to participate in this international competition. With my team, we intensively worked during 8 weeks on a multidisciplinary project with the ultimate goal of definining a possible oil/gas prospect in an specific area. We ended up as semifinalists in Bogotá, Colombia after presenting our project to a set of professionals of the Oil/Energy industry learning from students and professionals from different countries in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
